If you are a fan of Uwell, then you know well enough that Caliburn is its first ever pod vape. Although it seems like they are a novice to this industry, the positive feedback to its Uwell Crown would tell you this brand knows what it is doing.
Just like the JUUL, the Uwell Caliburn is made of aluminum chassis. However, that’s where the similarities end. The Caliburn boasts of some excellent features.
The Uwell Caliburn boasts of a dual-firing mechanism, which sets it apart from other devices on the market. This means you can fire the device either by draw-activating the firing sensor or physical pressing the firing button.
Also, it uses non-proprietary micro USB charging ports. This gives users more flexibility when charging the device.
To deliver great flavor and vapor, Uwell used its Pro-FOCS coil with flavor testing technology, which seems to cater mouth-to-lung (MTL) users. The device is rated with a resistance of between 1.2 and 1.5 ohms. Uwell Caliburn produces flavorful vapor with impressive vapor production.
The quality of vapor is warm, but never hot since the airflow is kept within comfortable temperatures. Also, the vapor tends to get cooler as the battery life is depleted since the voltage cannot be regulated.
Although this device can accommodate any type of e-juice, it does a better job handling nicotine salt e-liquids as its low wattage appears to fall short when you use it to vape regular freebase nicotine vape liquids.
Its power flexibility is good news to some and bad news to others. Apparently, the Uwell ditched variable wattage and temperature control. This means you are left with a fixed wattage cap of 11 watts. It has a voltage output range of between 3.2 and 4.0 volts.
But nevertheless, you will not find it hard to use this vape pod. The Caliburn boasts of a top-filling design wherein the drip tip serves as the port cover for the pod. This means that you do not need to remove the pod from the base to refill. This mechanism also prevents the e-liquid from leaking.
Measuring 110mm tall × 21.2mm wide × 11.6mm thick, you can easily slip this device inside your back pocket or small purse. It weighs around 34 grams with a full pod and 25 grams without a pod, making it very lightweight yet sturdy. However, it needs a bit more grip to it as the device tends to slip out of the hands.
Under the hood, you will find a 520mAh internal battery, which is not ground-breaking but is enough to power your vaping for an entire day. Usually, it takes around two to three refills before charging is needed. Just like its battery, the 2mL e-liquid capacity of its pod is decent.
The battery level is also displayed on the device. A green light indicates the battery is more than 60%, blue is within 30% to 60%, and red is below 30%. Charging time takes around 45 minutes and the device supports pass-thru charging.
Safety-wise though, Uwell Caliburn is equipped with built-in protections including short circuit protection, 10-second cut-off protection, and low power alert.
Overall, Uwell Caliburn can be a good choice for those who are new to vaping. It has a solid design with great coil heads that will last weeks at a time. The device also allows you to enjoy plenty of flavor with excellent MTL draw.
